Dear St. Pius X School Families,
In our 48th year of Catholic education, I am happy to inform you that St. Pius X School is anticipating another year of growth for the upcoming school year. Our enrollment and achievement have both increased, and our projections are for that increase to continue on both counts. We are blessed to have your continued support, the support of our local parishes, and the support of our diocesan officials. What makes St. Pius X School so successful is that we recognize each child as a gift from God, and it is that mosaic of gifts which makes our ministry of Catholic education so fruitful and rewarding.
We have been very busy evaluating and improving upon our already successful academic programs, and are gearing up for reaccreditation in 2010. Our academics and programs in the arts and in world languages continue to provide an easy transition for our graduates as they prepare for high school and beyond. In addition to the excellent academic programs we offer, we also will continue to improve upon our spiritual, moral, and ethical education. Prayer, respect, and service to others will all remain as priorities not only within our school, but also in our entire community. My faculty and staff promote our mission by direct instruction and by being living examples of the faith we instill in our children.
Pope Benedict XVI, in speaking to Catholic education officials in the United States last April, stated the following:
“To all of you I say: bear witness to hope. Nourish your witness with prayer. Account for the hope that characterizes your lives by living the truth which you propose to your students. Help them to know and love the One you have encountered, whose truth and goodness you have experienced with joy.” (Libreria Editrice Vaticana)
Father Ray Suriani and I were pleased to hear these words, as they reaffirm that which we are already doing, and encourage us to continually improve upon our mission-driven school.
Once again, I thank all of the parents, grandparents, and guardians for sacrificing to send your children to our school. It is probably the most important investment you could make for them. I look forward to seeing all of your children shortly, and, my door is always open to you. Thank you all for your continued support and for your commitment to the ministry of Catholic education.
God Bless!
Henry Fiore, Jr.
