Your child’s year in Kindergarten is dedicated to helping him/her to grow spiritually, socially, emotionally, and cognitively.

With family and school working together, our goal is to develop your child’s self-esteem, teach cooperation, and inspire a love for learning. Recognizing that children develop at varying rates, Kindergarten provides opportunities for individual growth. The program provides a creative and stimulating environment where every child is made to feel safe, secure, and important.

Kindergarten is an exciting place full of prayers, letters, numbers, stories, puzzles, play, paint, and sharing. We read, write, count, build, sing, laugh, draw, explore, and much more.

Welcome Letter

Dear Kindergarten Student,

Welcome to Kindergarten! I am looking forward to a great year with you – one that is full of fun and learning.

Your first “homework” assignment is to have an adventurous and creative summer! Be sure to spend time outdoors enjoying all of God’s creation. I look forward to you sharing something special you did!

Enjoy the rest of the summer. Have fun! Be healthy! Be safe!

See you on August 29th for orientation!

God bless you.

Parent Orientation

Dear Parents of Incoming Kindergarten Students,

I would like to welcome you to the 2017-2018 school year at St. Pius X School. I am looking forward to the year ahead with your child.

Our Kindergarten Orientation will take place on Tuesday, August 29 th at 10:00 A.M. in the Kindergarten classroom. This will be an informal orientation for parents and children, consisting of an overview of our Kindergarten program. I will meet with parents to discuss our Kindergarten year while the students are getting to know each other with Mrs. Benevides, our Kindergarten aide.

Then I will meet with the children while Mrs. Benevides directs you in filling out some required paperwork.

Below, you will find a supply list of items to purchase for the first day of school. Please bring these to school at orientation or send to school with your child on the first official day of school. Please be sure to label all personal items.

I look forward to meeting you on the 29th

God bless, Mrs. Jeanne McDonald Kindergarten Teacher
