St. Pius X School Extended Care provides students with before-school and after-school care.

Extended Day is available in the morning from 7:30-9:00 a.m. and in the afternoon from dismissal to 5:30 p.m., charged in half hour increments. Extended Day is a separate program as per RI Department of Education.

Children are to be dropped off in the morning and picked up and signed out from afternoon care in the designated Extended Day rooms. Individuals other than parents who have the authority to pick up should be listed on the emergency care sheets. When an authorized alternate is scheduled to pick up your child, a signed note informing the school of the arrangement should accompany him/her to school. The alternate individual should have personal identification available.

Both indoor and outdoor activities are planned for the children. Older children have an opportunity to do homework.

There is no Extended Day on no-school days. Occasionally, on days of inclement weather, Extended Day is cancelled. The decision is made by 1:00 p.m. Parents are notified if such a decision is made.

Rates are: $7.00 per hour/per child.
